Chattanooga's String Theory Performs with Vermont Youth Orchestra

Chattanooga's String Theory Performs with Vermont Youth Orchestra
Mar 30, 2017 Chattanooga, TN

Violinist Robyn Bollinger had a one-week residency with the String Theory Youth Initiative in partnership with Lee University. Ms. Bollinger connected with the Vermont Youth Orchestra in Burlington, Vermont for a performance. “I guess going into this I was expecting to be able to unite these communities, and I think tonight was a great start for this technology in classical music moving forward,” Bollinger said.

“The students feel inspired to use technology in not the ordinary way. I can collaborate with musicians in a different state, maybe in a different part of the world,” said Bryony Stroud-Watson, the Coordinator for the String Theory Youth Initiative. “Places like the Chattanoogs Public Library and the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington could be sites where students and people [could] meet and have discussions, maybe have rehearsals, and do that and nurture the relationship over several months and then actually come together live in the same place at the same time for an actual concert.” For more information, visit http://www.chattanoogan.com/2017/3/17/344168/String-Theory-Youth-Initiative-To-Host.aspx.
