eduPerson & eduOrg


eduPerson and eduOrg Object Classes

eduPerson and eduOrg are Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) schema designed to include widely-used person and organizational attributes in higher education. The eduPerson object class provides a common list of attributes and definitions, drawing on the existing standards in higher education.

Development of eduPerson and eduOrg was supported with funding from Internet2.

About eduMember and eduCourse

Development for both eduMember and eduCourse have concluded, however they are still supported in different forms:

  • The work of eduMember has concluded its activities for the present, and all work has migrated to the Grouper project. Please email if you have questions or comments.
  • The eduCourse CourseID group has completed its work and is dormant at present. You may still find archival information and support in the wiki for MACE-Dir.

eduPerson Release History

The Internet2 MACE-Dir Working Group releases new  versions of the eduPerson specification. 

These schema are provided as a public service to the community. There are no fees associated with using them. They are developed and managed by the MACE-Dir(ectories) working group.
