In an extraordinary partnership with the Internet2 research community, the Internet2 Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Internet2 NET+ Services and Microsoft, a series of research-focused workshops will be held covering a range of scientific domains including Genomics and Bioinformatics, Social Sciences, the Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. As of February 2013 three workshops have been held and more are being planned. These workshops are open to researchers from the respective domains of science, to cyberinfrastructure professionals, librarians and others responsible for data preservation and curation. CIOs and university vice presidents for research are encouraged to attend. The purpose of the workshops is to provide input to Microsoft that will be used in enhancing support for academic research.
