Internet2 Network Outage Impacting AL2S & AL3S Customers
Please be advised that Internet2 experienced a significant network outage today between 9:00am–9:25am/EST. This outage was a result of an approved upgrade to the OESS software. Upon initial assessment, it appears that the impact of the outage was widespread across portions of the Internet2 AL3S, AL2S, and TR-CPS services.
During this time customers may have experienced disruptions in their service from approximately 7–25 minutes in length.
Internet2 apologizes for any impact this outage may have caused you and is taking the outage very seriously. Our network and executive teams are working vigorously to determine the root cause of this outage and will also be providing our user community a detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) that will define the problem, and the countermeasures implemented to avoid any reoccurrence in the future. In the meantime, we plan to send an update on Monday, November 16.
