ST. LOUIS – October 22, 2014 – Global Velocity, a developer of information-centric security (ICS) cybersecurity software, announced today it has joined Internet2, a not-for-profit, member driven technology and networking consortium dedicated to advancing new innovations and scientific discoveries for the next generation of research and education. Internet2 is comprised of over 260 higher education institutions along with leading corporations, government agencies and research facilities. Internet2’s high-performance infrastructure, unconstrained bandwidth availability, cloud offerings and deep security fabric allows large and sensitive data to traverse the globe at incredible speeds.
Global Velocity is the developer of the cloud-based SecurioTM cybersecurity platform that continually monitors and manages sensitive data stored in enterprise and cloud storage and application systems helping to prevent unintentional or malicious data loss.
Global Velocity works with its customers in the private sector, government and higher education to prevent data breaches, which has become increasingly difficult as disruptive trends such as Big Data, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and cloud computing continue to gain wide adoption across both the business and education sectors.
"The Internet2 community has a rich history of pioneering new technologies and innovations that not only are transforming research and higher education today, but will help businesses and government agencies all over the world be more productive and efficient tomorrow," said Greg Sullivan, CEO, Global Velocity. "We look forward to working with Internet2 and the entire R&E community to continue that progress through education on the risks of information loss or theft, and how to mitigate those risks."
