Spring 2012 Internet2 Member Meeting
The Spring 2012 Internet2 Member Meeting is fast approaching! With a theme focused on "The Internet2 Community: Building the Next Innovation Platform Together," the program will address the ways the Internet2 Community is reclaiming the leadership of ground-breaking innovations, brought about through the implementation of a 100G network, NET+ Services, revolutionary new network technologies and opportunities for services that leverage this innovation platform.
Internet2 is pleased to host a number of excellent General Session speakers from around our community at this upcoming meeting.
- On Monday evening, Michael McRobbie, President of Indiana University and incoming Internet2 Board Chair, will offer welcoming remarks to kick off the Welcome Reception.
- On Tuesday, Mary Sue Coleman, President of the University of Michigan, Chair of the Association of American Universities, and Internet2 Board Chair; and Molly Corbett Broad, President of the American Council on Education and Internet2 Board Chair Emeritus, will speak about the need for transformation within higher education.
- Wednesday's session will feature John Kasich, The Honorable Governor of Ohio; Caroline Whitacre, Vice President of Research at The Ohio State University; Tony Gentile, Senior Director, Content Systems for ESPN; and Chip Elliot, Project Director for the NSF's GENI Project. Each will bring a unique perspective to the theme of innovation.
The General Sessions will also feature a number of Internet2 updates and announcements, as well as the Rose Award and President's Award presentations. If you are unable to join us in Arlington, be sure to watch the live netcast.
Internet2 Member Meetings bring the member community together for interactive discussions about new and ongoing work and provide a venue for members to make connections and form new collaborations. This year, the meeting structure has been changed to provide our member CIOs with two days of meetings, sessions and tailored content—including the CIO Forum—on April 23-24. If you would like additional information, please contact Terri Saarinen.
