As part of the Summer 2009 ESCC/Internet2 Joint Techs, the Internet2 IPv6 Working Group is running an IPv6-only Hour to challenge attendees. This summer’s Challenge, sponsored by HP/Matrix, highlights the need for public awareness of the coming crisis in routing and networking: IPv4 addresses are running out and U.S. industry and higher education are not prepared to switch to the new Internet Protocol. The IPv4-blackout on July 21 is the third such demonstration at ESCC/Internet Joint Techs events. More information.
