The Internet2 Board of Trustees Announces New Members for 2018-19

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 13, 2018 – The Internet2 Board of Trustees recently held an election and appointed new representatives. Their terms will begin on November 1, 2018.

New Trustees to the Board:

  • Dr. William (Bill) Carson, president and CEO, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc. 
  • Louis Fox, president and CEO, CENIC
  • Dr. Jeffrey K. Hollingsworth, vice president and chief information officer, University of Maryland, College Park 
  • Marla Meehl, section head of the network engineering and telecommunications section, University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, and manager of the Front Range GigaPoP 

In addition, Rebecca M. Blank, chancellor, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Tracy Futhey, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, Duke University; and Barbara R. Snyder, president, Case Western University, were re-elected to three years terms. Klara Jelinkova, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, Rice University, was re-appointed to fill a vacancy through 2020. 

The Internet2 Board of Trustees is elected by representatives from member organizations or appointed by the board, and includes university presidents, chief information officers, network researchers, discipline researchers, and industry partners. The member-focused board provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight.

  • Duncan Brown, Charles Brightman Endowed Professor of Physics, Syracuse University

  • F. Alex Feltus, associate professor of genetics and biochemistry, Clemson University
  • Steve Fleagle, associate vice president and chief information officer, University of Iowa
