Internet2 and ESnet have collaborated in the past to offer a series of short, focused workshops on highly specific subjects for discussion between network engineers/operators and domain scientists, especially in areas of Big Data. The workshops are geared toward helping specific science domains use and understand the network, as well as responding to the unique networking needs of each domain.
The 1- to 2-day workshops have featured a variety of topics. Hosted at member campuses and government laboratories, the workshops have brought together representatives from key audiences and agencies to share their experiences, needs, problems, and desired solutions related to the workshop topic areas.
