Internet2 is conducting sessions, presentations, a special workshop, and other meet and greets with attendees at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference, October 27-30 in Indianapolis.

With more than 300 sessions and 500 speakers, 60 webcasts and 18 exclusive online sessions provided virtually—the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference presents a robust, community-generated program that explores the toughest IT issues facing higher education today and convenes some of the brightest minds in the community.

Here are ways to connect with the Internet2 community before, during, and after the event.

Before, during and after the conference:

Follow the social media conversation.

Connect with Internet2 on Twitter and participate in the conversation about the event by following #EDU15. Get your online networking started by following community members, industry thought leaders, CIOs active on Twitter, and publications covering the industry:

  • Jim Bottum, CIO and Vice Provost at Clemson University; Presidential Fellow at Internet2: @jimbottum
  • Bruce Maas, CIO, University of Wisconsin-Madison: @UWMadisonCIO
  • Melissa Woo, CIO, University of Oregon: @mzyw

  • (And for a dose of levity, follow @EDUCAUSE_HULK)

During the conference:

Attend Internet2 sessions and workshops highlighting NET+ and Trust and Identity in Education and Research (TIER) initiatives.

Internet2 is conducting sessions to connect with attendees and share updates and information about the TIER and NET+ initiatives.

TIER is a community-initiated effort, coordinated by Internet2, to develop a consistent, rationalized approach to identity and access management that simplifies campus processes and advances inter-institutional collaboration and research. Mark your calendar for these TIER related sessions at EDUCAUSE:

Wednesday, Oct. 28

Interested in finding out more about Trust and Identity in Education and Research (TIER)? Join us first thing Wednesday morning for a BOF session discussing the progress of the program andreviewing upcoming deliverables. Access a recent webinar recapping the state of the TIER program.

Friday, Oct. 30

TIER Program Check-In, convening those interested in recent developments of the Trust and Identity in Education and Research Internet2 initiative. Hear Internet2’s Ann West and Steve Zoppi, as well as community members Kevin Morooney, Penn State, and Ron Kraemer, Notre Dame, present on TIER progress.

Internet2’s NET+ initiative, conceived and led by the research and education community, applies the same community standards and collaborative approach to cloud and trust solutions that guided the advancement of R&E networking in the late 1990s and created the Internet2 Network. Don’t miss these cloud and NET+ sessions.

Friday, Oct. 30

NET+ Box Community Workshop, covering a variety of topics of interest to campuses deploying the Box cloud collaboration services.

Because universities are facing a broad and complex array of issues, including addressing trust and identity management on campus, as well as moving to cloud based applications, convening the Internet2 community at industry events like EDUCAUSE provides opportunities to learn from one another and address common issues and develop solutions that enrich scholarship and research.

After the conference:

Mark your calendar for upcoming community events.

Events like EDUCAUSE are a great way to reconnect with colleagues and grow your professional network. Keep in touch with the community all year long.

The Internet2 community will take part in SC15 in mid-November and also will host the 20th anniversary Global Summit in Chicago May 15-18, 2016.

Tweet us if you’ll be attending any of these upcoming events.
