FTW: Real-time Collaboration in Research and Education
Real-time collaboration is essential for research and education, and we are awash in internet-based technologies to make it happen. Whether it's voice, video, content or immersive presence, working live with students, faculty, and staff distributed across the campus or across the world enables us to accomplish never before seen levels of efficacy and efficiency. But, along with these capabilities comes a lot of complexity. Does my collaboration solution work with yours? How do I increase adoption for my users? How do I ensure I’m getting the best quality and reliability while minimizing costs?
Internet2 is pleased to again offer a Focused Technical Workshop on this topic April 30-May 1 - "Real-time Collaboration in Research and Education: Building Community Solutions." Offered immediately following the Internet2 Global Summit 2015 in Washington D.C., this on-site workshop will include updates on new technologies, overviews of community infrastructure and how to leverage it, methods to overcome barriers to adoption, updates from global colleagues, and a new collaborative session dedicated to discovering how to best tune our community efforts in this space.
As with all Focused Technical Workshops, we're keeping costs to a minimum at $150 members/$225 non-members, and the workshop is offered in-person only. If you are already joining us for the Global Summit, please don’t miss this opportunity for you or one of your colleagues to join the conversation on how to get the most out of real-time collaboration!
