First ‘Operating Innovative Networks’ Workshop Builds Skills at Internet2 Innovation Platform Campuses
Internet2 community members Indiana University, ESnet, and Clemson University co-hosted the ‘Operating Innovative Networks’ Workshop at Internet2’s Washington D.C. office on May 14-15, 2013. The session focused on providing network experts with practical information for deploying and supporting SDN and Science DMZ* technologies within the networks of CC-NIE and Innovation Platform pilot campuses. The workshop aimed to help participants get the most out of these technologies by providing solid foundations in implementation and operation, and confidence in providing reliable and innovative network services.
The workshop is the first in what we hope will be a series of similar workshops across the community. More than 30 campuses and 12 supporting regional networks committed to implementing Innovation Platform technologies.
Collaboration among members to spread knowledge and best practices has always been one of the most compelling aspects of the Internet2 community. Internet2 is grateful for the opportunity to work with Indiana University, ESnet, and Clemson University to build the expert skills that lay the foundation to deliver another generation of advanced services. We welcome requests from other Internet2 community members interested in hosting similar workshops by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
