Claudio Allocchio

Claudio Allocchio is the GARR senior technical director for advanced applications and security areas. He studied astrophysics and particle physics, but also music (piano). In 1985 he started his computer networking activities at CERN and then returned to Trieste (1988). Among the founders of GARR NREN, he managed the COSINE mail gateway services (early 90s) and the Italian Naming Authority (”.it” regulator). Since 1991, he is a member of the application area directorate at IETF.

 

Roberto Díaz

A violist of international reputation, Roberto Díaz holds the position of President and CEO of the Curtis Institute of Music. He follows thereby in the footsteps of renowned soloist/directors such as Rudolf Serkin, Gary Graffman, Efrem Zimbalist and Josef Hofmann. As a professor of viola at Curtis and former principal viola of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Mr. Díaz has already had a significant impact on American musical life and continues to do so in his dual roles as performer and educator.

 

 Farnam Jahanian

Dan Nichols

Dan Nichols is an Internet2 Multimedia Specialist at North Illinois University. Mr. Nichols choreographed the School of Music's inaugural Internet 2 musical telepresence session with the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center as a graduate student and has since streamlined and enhanced the school's multimedia and educational web presence through a variety of traditional and cutting edge applications. The NIU School of Music, under Mr. Nichols' guidance, specializes in the use of Access Grid, DVTS, H.323 hardware and software solutions, LOLA, ConferenceXP, JackTrip and UltraGrid.

 

Shelton Waggener 

Shelton Waggener is the Senior Vice President of Internet2 responsible for the NET+ portfolio of services. Shelton leads Internet2's pursuit of emerging cloud and advanced services above the network involving demand aggregation and brokering with campus and commercial providers, and distributed offerings among its members. He will also provide leadership for Internet2's InCommon federation, and middleware programs.
