NSF Campus Cyberinfrastructure – Network Infrastructure and Engineering Program (CC-NIE) Information

As a follow up to the last post on this topic, Internet2 staff has prepared some perspectives on this solicitation via an informational webpage and downloadable pdf.  Members are encouraged to submit proposals by the quickly approaching deadline of May 30, 2012 as the program is open to U.S. universities, and there are no limits on the number of proposals per Principal Investigator (PI) or per campus.

This may be one of the most significant investments the NSF will make in support of campus networking for many years and the timing of this announcement is very advantageous in light of the Internet2 community’s ongoing efforts to create a nationwide platform for innovation.  Internet2 staff stands ready and willing to assist in any way possible, including brainstorming with you—if that is helpful in preparing your proposal—and writing letters of support for proposals that progress the community’s larger goal of developing a nationwide platform for innovation.
