Learn More About Internet2 Networking for Cloud
To support the rapid adoption by researchers, IT professionals and service providers in the research and education community, Internet2, and its regional network partners are rapidly expanding the capabilities of R&E networks to connect you to the cloud with the same trusted high performance and secure infrastructure that R&E networks have provided to the community for decades.
To give you a quick overview of Internet2’s Networking for Cloud solutions, George Loftus, AVP of Network Services, has recorded a 10-minute overview video of the various cloud connectivity solutions that Internet2 provides:
- Internet2 Peer Exchange (I2PX)
Use of the community’s existing 3Tbps of peering capabilities to the major cloud providers for advanced access to cloud SaaS services.
- Internet2 Cloud Connect (I2CC)
Enabling the Internet2 and regional network’s infrastructure to offer shared “direct-connect” private Layer 2 and Layer 3 access to Microsoft, Amazon and Google cloud platforms up to 5Gbps at no additional fee (Cloud provider fees apply).
- Internet2 Rapid Private Interconnect (I2RPI)
Private 10G interconnections at major peering points at low annual rates. Leverages current investment in local and national infrastructure to reach cloud providers, for dedicated access or improved resiliency. May be used to connect to any provider located at the peering points.
