Utilize the robust regional and national networks available to your campus to access Microsoft’s Azure Express Route, available now in Ashburn and Chicago. Depending on your preference, you can implement either a Layer 2 (see diagram) or Layer 3 (see diagramsolution. You will need to subscribe to the Azure Express Route service directly through Microsoft.

We are beginning to test our first connection to Amazon’s AWS Direct Connect in Ashburn, Virginia. The first connection will be “hosted VIF” but we can also offer hosted interconnect. If you are ready to test and would like to pilot this service on behalf of the community, please contact us

For interest in access to either Microsoft Azure Express Route or Amazon AWS Direct Connect, please send a note to cloudconnect_request@internet2.edu. And, watch for future availability of Google Cloud Platform Dedicated Interconnect.
