perfSONAR News: Upcoming Workshop on pScheduler API
pScheduler is the new test scheduler introduced in perfSONAR 4.0. One of its features is a REST API, which turns perfSONAR nodes into building blocks for other systems, reducing the need to build up additional remote measurement infrastructure, and ensuring more-accurate results by working cooperatively around other measurement activities. From a practical standpoint, this feature allows the user to give pScheduler measurement tasks, retrieve the results, and analyze important information about the system and the tasks it's performing.
Join Mark Feit, creator of pScheduler, on September 19 from 1-2:30pm EDT for an online workshop on the pScheduler API. Topics covered in this workshop include: reviewing the basic concepts, generation of tasks, the task lifecycle, retrieval and formatting of results, enumeration of installed plug-ins, and examination of pScheduler’s timeline.
Prior knowledge of HTTP, REST and JSON will be helpful in understanding the material, but is not required. Connection information may be found in the announcement sent to the perfsonar-announce mailing list. In addition, this workshop will be recorded for those unable to join.
We look forward to seeing you!
