Community Requirements Process for Next Gen Infrastructure Completed; Summary Doc Coming in June
The first phase of the community requirements gathering process for the next generation Internet2 infrastructure has completed. The two R&E Community Investment in National-footprint Network Services (RECINNS) working groups met jointly to discuss a draft summary document and next steps. The process to date has included a call for papers that resulted in more than 30 submissions from the community, a workshop for paper authors, and two working groups - one focused on enterprise requirements and the other on research requirements. The summary document will be completed in June, and next steps will include organizing a number of pilot projects that will inform future technology choices.
