Cloud Service Sessions and Networking Highlights at the 2016 Global Summit
The 2016 Internet2 Global Summit will celebrate members that have shaped Internet2 over the past 20 years and showcase those whose work and strategies will shape the next 20 years, provides numerous sessions, meetings, working groups, and other activities for members to engage around cloud services and the Internet2 NET+ initiative. These include:
“How to Cloud” Workshop, Sunday, May 15 at 11am.
Shel Waggener, Alan Fishel, Jerry Grochow and I will offer community insights and best practices for developing a campus cloud strategy as well as implementing cloud based solutions. Separate registration is required for this workshop and attendance is limited to higher education community members only. We have a few spaces remaining so register now!
Cloud Services Working Group, Monday, May 16 at 8:30am.
This meeting will provide an open forum for community members to discuss their move to the cloud and the general non-service specific issues related to cloud services.
NET+ Service Meetings

Splunk special interest group, Tuesday, May 17 at 12pm
There are also several executive briefings planned for NET+ services of special interest to the community: CloudLock, DocuSign, Microsoft Azure and ServiceNow (contact me if you’re interested in attending). Closed meetings for various NET+ service advisory boards, including Amazon Web Services, DocuSign, Duo, and Splunk are also taking place.

General NET+ Program Update, May 18 at 1:15pm
Shel Waggener and I will provide a general update on the NET+ program and the community’s engagement with cloud services, including a summary of the many new services currently being validated by the community and those kicking off service validation in the next 60 days. We will also highlight changes to the program structure based on community and advisory board feedback over the past few months.
Networking with NET+ service sponsors
Many companies that are currently participating in the NET+ program are sponsoring the Global Summit, including: Microsoft, Mitel, Amazon Web Services, Code 42, Skyhigh, Splunk, Blackboard, Box, DLT, Duo, ID Solutions, Level(3), Mythics, CloudyCluser, SkySync. I encourage you to visit their booths and discuss their NET+ service offerings in between sessions or at the sponsor reception on Monday afternoon. Duo will be hosting a happy hour on Tuesday evening as well, and ServiceNow and DocuSign have an informal gathering planned for Monday.
