perfSONAR 3.5.1 Release Announced
The perfSONAR team, including ESnet, GEANT, Indiana University, and Internet2, is pleased to announce the release of perfSONAR 3.5.1. Building on the widely adopted perfSONAR 3.5 release, this new version of the software includes significant enhancements and refinements to many different components of the perfSONAR package, leading to improvements in usability and supportability for deployments around the globe, on campuses, in support of data intensive science, and for pushing the envelope of network innovation. Full details can be found here.
perfSONAR is a network measurement toolkit designed to provide federated coverage of paths, and help to establish end-to-end usage expectations. There are 1000s of perfSONAR instances deployed world wide, many of which are available for open testing of key measures of network performance. This global infrastructure helps to identify and isolate problems as they happen, making the role of supporting network users easier for engineering teams, and increasing productivity when utilizing network resources.
