SignetTM is a trademark of Internet2®. These policies and guidelines cover the Signet wordmark, the main Signet logo, specific applications of that logo as well as other logos associated with the Signet project. This site also provides guidelines and resources for using the Signet trademark and logos
About Signet
Signet is open source software that provides a critical component of a privilege management system. Privilege management is a relatively new component of campus middleware that provides centralized management of user privileges across a range of applications. Features include: a standard user interface for privilege administrators; consistent, simplified policy definition, via roles and integration with core campus organizational data; improved visibility, understandability, and auditability of privilege information; and standard interfaces to other infrastructure services and to application systems to support integration.
Usage Policy and Goals
The prime goals of this policy are to ensure the continued value and integrity of the Signet trademark and to promote awareness and adoption of Signet technology by encouraging appropriate use of the trademark and logos.
You can do many things with the Signet logos without the explicit permission of Internet2. However, there are also things you may not do without obtaining written permission. The Signet trademark must always be used in ways that are non-confusing, non-diluting, and non-disparaging. Non-confusing means that use should not imply inaccurate affiliation with or endorsement by Internet2 or the Signet team. Non-diluting means that use may not contribute to the mark becoming a generic term. Non-disparaging means that Signet trademarks may not be used to defame or derogate
