Spring 2005 Internet2 Member Meeting

The Internet2 Teaching and Learning SIG held its kick-off meeting in conjunction with the Spring 2005 Internet2 Member Meeting on 2 May 2005.


Agenda:
• Introduction/Overview of new Teaching and Learning SIG. Marty Siegel, Jennifer MacDougall
• Guest Speaker. Judith Graves, Library of Congress
• Case Study "Learning Commons and Internet2." Franz Kurfess, CalPoly   [htm]  [ppt]
• Group Breakouts addressing the following three questions [pdf]

1. What tools or resources can we develop to better connect teaching and learning assets and communities? 
2. When we move beyond common applications of Internet2 (i.e.; video conferencing), what features of Internet2 might educators exploit to accomplish difficult teaching and learning goals?
3. Many tools and databases are being created by scientists for research purposes. How might teachers and students use these resources in learning settings?
