Configuring Windows Messenger for SIP.edu

1. Start Windows Messenger
2. Select Tools > Options...
3. Select the Accounts tab
   
4. Under ".NET Passport Account" uncheck the "My contacts include users of .NET Messenger Service" box
5. Under "SIP Communications Service Account" check the "My contacts include users of a SIP Communications Service" box
6. Enter your SIP.edu address (email address) in the "Sign-in name:" box - eg: guy@sipedu-univ10.tamu.edu
7. Click on "Advanced"

8. Select "Configure settings"
   
9. Enter your SIP server address in the "Server name or IP address:" box - eg. sipedu-univ10.tamu.edu
10. Select "Connect using: UDP"
11. Click "OK" to close Configuration windows
    
12. Click on "Click here to sign in"
    
13. Enter your SIP authentication User name and Password and click "OK"
    
14. Congratulations!!! Now you are ready to make and receive SIP calls

Notes:

• Windows Firewall may ask you if you want to trust this program - you will need to allow this.
• If you get the .NET Passport Wizard - just click on "Cancel".
