In addition to the advanced IP and circuit-based services, the new network makes available a number of other services to benefit members, such as offering commercial peering service for Internet2 network connectors. Additional services that complement those available on the Internet2 Network include:
- Internet2 FiberCo provides Internet2 members the ability to acquire, hold, and distribute intercity and metro fiber optic network assets, as well as assets for new fiber builds, at reduced rates.
- Internet2 FiberCo Professional Services partners with Internet2 corporate members to provide members services such as network design and installation at attractive and exclusive rates.
- Internet2 WaveCo facilitates members' cost-effective access to dedicated optical circuits on Level 3's extensive nationwide and metropolitan footprint covering more than 33,000 miles of network. WaveCo assigns dedicated "off-net" wavelengths or sub-wavelength circuits in a manner similar to Internet2 FiberCo's dark fiber transactions. By brokering Level 3 private line and wavelength services to Internet2 members, pre-negotiated contract terms are assigned to and accepted by our members to meet their networking needs.
