Before a service is offered to the community, it is put through a series of phases, until it is made available to all eligible institutions. Description: Several universities are working with Internet2 to develop a program that will provide a community-friendly self-service portal created and managed by an AWS solution provider; discounts on eligible AWS services; and expanded payment options that include invoicing and grant-friendly pre-payment services, as well as traditional credit card payment services. The new offering will allow universities to aggregate individual and institutional usage of AWS to achieve cost savings and improved performance and functionality. This innovative program will also address data transfer costs.

Description: Dell Cloud On-Demand is a multi-tenant Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) hosted in secured Dell datacenters. For large enterprises, the Dell Cloud provides on-demand computing capacity as an extension to existing datacenter environments with the same benefits and IT efficiencies delivered through on-premise VMware virtualized infrastructure. For medium and small businesses, the Dell Cloud On-Demand enables you to access similar computing capabilities as large organizations without having to build and maintain your own datacenter.
NCSU/IBM Virtual Computing Lab
Description: North Carolina State University (NCSU) will provide "virtual computing lab (VCL) cycles" on machines located in MCNC data center, and VCL management services for campuses that have their own hardware and wish to federate with the NCSU offering. IBM will offer the Academic Initiative (AI) to AI-participating schools at no charge, running on VCL. IBM will also offer a total of approximately $100K in grants to participating schools for the development of additional VCL enhancements, improvements or adaptations.
AT&T Synaptic Storage and Compute
Description: Working with Florida Lambda Rail and several other institutions, AT&T will be offering its AT&T Synaptic Storage as a ServiceSM and AT&T Synaptic Compute as a ServiceSM through NET+. These are secure cloud-based on-demand storage and compute services that quickly and easily scale to academic, research and administrative needs, providing benefits of reduced TCO, dynamic resource allocation, scalability and reduced time-to-publication. R&E institutions with grant based compliance and capacity requirements and growing capacity needs will be most interested in these services. Integration options provided for Synaptic Compute as a Service include portal, VMware API, VMware vCloud Connector and VMware vCloud Director.
Description: Savvis, a CenturyLink Company, a global leader in cloud infrastructure and hosted IT solutions for enterprises, will develop an offering of its cloud and managed services to members of the Internet2 member community.
IU – Compute-Cluster-on-Demand
Description: Internet2's research and educational (R&E) community, as well as researchers at US Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), will have access to HPC computing time by leveraging IU's access supercomputing cloud resources. This Compute-Cluster-on-Demand (CCOD) service leverages access through the Rockhopper HPC cluster hosted within IU's secure data center to Penguin Computing's Penguin-On-Demand (POD).

Microsoft Large-Data Management and Cyberinfrastructure for Research
Description: In an extraordinary partnership with the Internet2 research community, the Internet2 Office of the Chief Technology Officer, Internet2 NET+ Services and Microsoft, a series of research-focused workshops will be held covering a range of scientific domains including Genomics and Bioinformatics, Social Sciences, the Physical Sciences and Life Sciences. As of February 2013 three workshops have been held and more are being planned. These workshops are open to researchers from the respective domains of science, to cyberinfrastructure professionals, librarians and others responsible for data preservation and curation. CIOs and university vice presidents for research are encouraged to attend. The purpose of the workshops is to provide input to Microsoft that will be used in enhancing support for academic research.

Description: Office 365 Education delivers the power of cloud productivity and combines the familiar Office desktop suite with cloud-based versions of Microsoft's next-generation communications and collaboration services: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Lync Online. NET+ Office 365 Education will utilize a standard agreement structure jointly developed by several universities, Microsoft, and Internet2. It will also feature an online community forum and knowledge exchange around best practices for migration and use cases.

Description: SDG will provide Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for university administrators over the Internet2 Network to Internet2's higher education members.
Description: Splunk Enterprise Software turns machine data into real-time insights for IT and business by collecting, indexing and harnessing the massive volumes of valuable data generated by IT infrastructure – physical, virtual and in the cloud. Splunk Inc is currently in discussions with Internet2 to define services and offerings that may make this powerful software available for the research and teaching needs of the higher education community. This potential offering may also include use of Splunk Enterprise Software by campus IT, business, and administration at some time in the future.
Description: LectureTools provides a platform for in-class instruction that complements learning management systems (LMS) offering tools to increase student engagement, particularly in large lecture classes.
Description: Cloud Elements supports the creation of applications that can successfully run in the cloud and are designed from the ground up to be cloud native. Video, Voice, and Collaborations as a Service
Description: Aastra and Level 3 Communications, as part of the Internet2 NET+ SIP Program, will offer Internet2 members a cost-effective alternative to traditional voice services.
Description: SeeVogh is a service that makes video collaboration affordable to the Internet2 community, even K-12 and public libraries, for up to 50 participants at a time.
Description: Adobe Connect™ Managed Service (ACMS) will provide a fully secure web conferencing private cloud that can scale on demand and integrate with audio conferencing, video conferencing or Learning Management Systems.
Description: Fuze is the only fully cloud-based software that allows HD Video Conferencing from any device, at any time, from anywhere. We bridge traditional desktops and laptops into a live video conference with legacy H.323 systems, as well all mobile tablets and smartphones. There is also full cloud-based collaboration, allowing students and faculty to connect, learn, share, and grow without any global geographic barriers.

Description: As a provider of IPTV solutions to the College and University marketplace, Tivli brings live TV, DVR and TV-Everywhere products to both traditional residential and non-residential undergraduate and graduate students. Tivli is working with Yale University as its sponsor to develop the framework for a proposed Internet2 NET+ Services offering.

Description: SafeNet offers select smart cards and USB-format PKI hard tokens at significantly discounted prices. These devices can be useful for a variety of needs, from facilitating client certificate deployment, to providing the foundation for an ID card program.
The service that started in Europe (www.eduroam.org
) and is rapidly growing globally has had much success
in the US and will soon reach one hundred participating institutions. Available to the research and education community (including libraries, museums, and selected government agencies), the eduroam service provides instant, authenticated and encrypted network access, mainly to Wi-Fi networks, to all participants of the federation. Connect once to the eduroam service at your local institution, and you are ready to roam regionally, nationally, and internationally—with no other steps required.

Description: Fisher's Ignite-Federation Service is a hosted, virtual identity provider service that satisfies the IdP related requirements for joining the InCommon Federation –supporting schools and universities wishing to participate in InCommon or leverage services where InCommon participation is required, such as Internet2 NET+ services. Two levels of the service are available: the Basic Service – a self-service solution that enables access to InCommon for institutional and regional network service providers; and, the Premium Service – providing access to any number of SAML 2.0-compliant service providers, and includes Fisher-performed configuration services, monthly support call allowance, and additional levels of automation.
