Ground Breaking CAMP for Registrars and IT
12-February-2009
Internet2 and EDUCAUSE collaborated with the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) to offer CAMP: Delivering, Sourcing, and Securing Services Throughout the Student Identity Life Cycle in February in Tempe, AZ.
Ninety-seven attendees participated in the workshop with forty attending the preworkshop seminar on The Big Picture: Introduction to Identity and Access Management.Speakers included an attorney and auditor and several registrars and identity and access management (IAM) implementers. Roughly 30% of the attendees represented campus business units with the remaining registrants coming from central IT. This is very significant, given CAMP's technical brand and heritage.
Over 90% of those who filled out the evaluation felt the workshop was valuable o very valuable. Comments received included: - "Great training for a person new to the world of digital identities." - "All sessions offered useful content. Our team left with a lot of action items, including strengthening identity proofing and mapping services to stages in the student life cycle." - "The key takeaways (being from a NON technical position), were the roles of students and their life cycle combined with the services offered as well as the issues of FERPA and privacy."
