Membership

Through Internet2 membership, our community focuses on developing and deploying advanced networking technologies and capabilities in service of U.S. research and higher education. Internet2 members represent a wide range of research and academic disciplines from over 300 member institutions, including leading U.S. universities, corporations, government research agencies, and not-for-profit networking organizations.

Internet2 membership is open to universities, corporations, and non-profit research oriented organizations. Individual membership is not available. The 2007 Internet2 Member Report provides a snapshot of the Internet2 community's efforts and accomplishments during 2007. Some key highlights covered in the report include the new governance structure, which includes a new membership category for regional networks and restructured Advisory Councils, and the deployment of a new nationwide network infrastructure. The report ends with a section that describes ways in which your organization might better utilize your Internet2 membership in the coming year.
