Apply for Membership
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Internet2 member! Membership is open to Universities, Corporations, and non-profit research oriented organizations.
To request an application or ask a question about membership, please contact membership@internet2.edu.
Application Process:
1. Determine your membership category.
2. Request an application.
3. Submit the completed application. A confirmation of receipt will be sent to you.
4. The application is reviewed and evaluated. The process may take up to 10 busienss days.
5. Upon approval, you are notified and your organization is welcomed into membership.
Application Requirements
University Member applicants must submit:
1. A letter from the institution's most senior executive, formally applying for membership and confirming the applicant's commitment to Internet2's mission and goals and membership requirements.
2. A more detailed statement of the applicant's status/progress towards meeting the goals of end-to-end broadband connectivity—including campus network upgrades, participation/formation of a gigaPoP, and development of advanced applications.

Affiliate Member applicants must submit a completed Internet2 membership application that includes a statement of commitment to the goals of Internet2. Those non-profit organizations wishing to apply for Collaboration Site Status must also submit a letter formally applying for Collaboration Site status and confirming specifically how the site conforms with Collaboration Site criteria.

R&E Network Member applicants must submit a complete Internet2 application including specified contacts information. The complete application must include a statement and supporting text which demonstrates the organization’s interest in the mission and goals of Internet2.

Corporate Member applicants must:
1. Submit all relevant contact information for representatives from the applying organization.
2. Identify locations, core business(es), revenues, relationship to Research and Education, and research and development focus and organization.
Corporate Partner and Corporate Sponsor applicants must submit:
1. A project proposal.
2. A brief executive summary describing the applicants existing partnerships and contributions to higher education and research networking and its quantified contribution.
3. A completed Internet2 membership application.
