Czech Republic and cross border connections
- Stanislav Sima, CESNET (Czech Republic) [ppt] [htm]
Cross border fibre and national use of european fibre. A new challenge
- Dai Davies, DANTE/GN2 (Europe) [ppt] [htm]
This panel will aim at discussing issues around interconnecting dark fiber-based networks (either regional optical networks - RONS or National Research and Education Networks) across borders and the relationship of these to national and/or continental-wide infrastructure.
During the panel, we will have several presentations from around the globe that will present case studies (in the context of a RON or a NREN) in a particular region. Perspectives will be shared on what these emerging optical/dark-based networks and organizations are doing for connecting to other similar regionals or national infrastructure and what the issues and challenges are in doing so, both technical, cost and organizationally.
