Health Science Education SIG

Charter
The mission of the Internet2 Health Science Education Special Interest Group is dedicated to continuously improving the Health Science Education educational experiences, accessibility, and resources enabled by the existence and use of advanced networks and services.

Chair
Parvati Dev, Stanford University

Process
The Health Sciences Education SIG focuses on the unique needs of the Health Sciences community for access to resources (e.g. cadavers or digital alternatives), unique expertise (e.g. pharmacogenomics), and the ability to employ these resources to provide unique learning environments.

The SIG focuses initially on three specific areas:

  • Technological activities relating to the accessibility of the Health Sciences Educational environment.
  • Resources, such as Digital Anatomy repositories, that support the educational environment.
  • Pedagogical paradigms that advance the educational experience.

Each area of interest has a group of experts that meet to determine priorities and identify activities.
