Governance
As a a member-owned, member-focused organization, Internet2 is built on our research and education community's leadership and expertise.
Our Board of Trustees consists primarily of representatives from member organizations, including university presidents and CIOs, as well as leaders from industry and research. The member-focused board provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight. Following a nominations process, the presidents of Internet2 member universities elect members to the Board of Trustees for three-year terms.

Program Advisory Groups also provide an essential channel of community input to advise and guide the creation and direction of Internet2 programs and services.
