The Internet2 Dynamic Circuit Network is an optical circuit network that provides dedicated bandwidth for the most demanding applications. The Dynamic Circuit research effort focuses on using community-developed, standards-based technologies and protocols to provide on-demand, dedicated optical paths between end-points.

- DCN-related Talks at Fall Member Meeting
- SC07: November 2007, Reno, NV -- Internet2, ESnet, and GEANT all implemented dynamic networks and an Inter-Domain Control (IDC) Protocol that allows the dynamic creation of circuits across segments of each network. The networks and their interoperation were shown at SC07 where the three networks above, networks on the SC show floor, test networks at University of Amsterdam, and Nortel all interoperated. The demos included LambdaStation and TeraPaths from (LHC applications), Phoebus peer-to-peer (P2P) transfer, streaming video of various types, and the generic ability to connect to hosts as demonstrated by having a laptop at SC07 connect to a host in Ann Arbor on-demand.
