Discussion about RTC charter and its suggested focus.   It is expected that Internet2 will want to continue the work of the RTC and create a community around issues and projects of interest.

Teaching and Learning (T & L):  Ann Doyle reported that session at SMM06 was lively and well-attended.  A new WIKI was introduced.  A discussion was held about mini-module course about teaching people to use Internet2.  Folks were looking to Internet2 to organize, do, staff and lead.   Neterns Gigi and Rachelle from Cal Poly were introduced. They attended the SMM to present at the Netern SIG.

Campus Expectations Task Force (CETF): The ASC was sent a copy of the resolution passed by the Internet2 board of directors.  Following action will include a joint meting of the council chairs and CETF steering committee to kick off and keep momentum. The CETF report is a comprehensive piece of work of what we have to do to support our researchers.

Egon shared that the TERENA conference held last week had 600+ participants including folk from Internet2.  He and Ann Doyle gave a talk on high-end applications.  The topic of what national research networks are for was also discussed.  He said it was good t see many discussion the role to stimulate research or provide educational infrastructure.

Hearing no other comments, David ended the meeting by appreciating ASC members’ time and effort on behalf of the folks for which we’re here to serve.
