Merger Update:  Documents are being worked on in preparation for NLR board 4/6 and Internet2 board 4/23.  Hope to have definitive agreement and draft bylaws ready for review and approval in late April timeframe.

CETF: The CETF met as a task force face-to-face in Chicago on 3/16.  Bill said this was an exceptionally good meeting from several angles.  CETF came together strongly and are engaged in cleaning up and better stating commitment areas and honoring those commitments. On or by 4/21, a document will be sent to ASC and NPPAC council chairs, including letter of transmission and suggested follow-on and next steps that should be considered.  Plans are in the works to report on the CETF report at the upcoming Internet2 Spring 2006 Member Meeting.

David added that the Real Time Collaboration (RTC) group is not as quite as far along as the CETF, but is active in sharing draft sections among the group.

IDEA Awards: David said group is pleased with the quality of the submissions.  The winners will be notified prior to the member meeting.  Kudos were given to Ted Hanss for bringing this idea to reality and for coordinating the judges.  The IDEA awards will be announced at the Spring Member Meeting.

ASC Member Update: Russ Hobby mentioned the continued interest in sensor networks within the community. and mentioned a workshop at UCLA with leaders who explored how they are doing connectivity in the field and compared efforts.  Russ will share final report.

George mentioned poster session at SMM06 - Medline on Tap -- PDA means for clinical environment to access Medline info and process it so it fits into PDA display limitation.  Evaluation results will also be presented.  Poster covers system design and evaluation of results by using it in clinical environment there.

ASC will have a closed face-to-face meeting at the Spring Member Meeting.  The merger, CETF and RTC will be on the agenda.   <end>
