Internet2 Advisory Council Nomination Form

In the final report of the Governance and Nominations Committee (GNC), the GNC recommended replacing the existing Internet2 Advisory Council structure with four new Councils that are heterogeneous, defined by operational function and more tightly connected to the membership, to management, and to the Board. The recent announcement by Jeff Lehman and Tracy Futhey of the plan to bring Internet2 and NLR together into a single organization included a commitment to adopting the GNC governance structure.  Therefore, it is expected that once the Definitive Agreement is signed, the four Advisory Councils will be Internet2-NLR Advisory Councils.

The nominations process for the new Councils is now open.  Each Council has three seats from each of these constituency groups:

  1. CIO Representatives
  2. Regional Network Representative
  3. Researcher Representative
  4. Industry Representative

Nominations can be submitted by anyone regardless of Internet2 affiliation.  The nominations are open to any member of Internet2, as defined by the current membership categories.  Self-nominations are welcome. All nominations must be received by 7 May 2007. Follow this link for more information on the nominations process.
